Happy Wednesday!  I’m spending the week at a different research facility helping out on an ongoing project about hip health in the elderly.  Pretty interesting and a great program to help the older population be more active, and in turn more healthy.  Going to be going to a few clinics in the city this week to do some measurements and tests on the participants.  Normally, there’s a long lag between a research idea and actually implementing that idea in real world practice.  This project is great because it’s essentially collecting data for research while already implementing the idea in the community.  I always think about this when I’m dealing with patients as a clinical doctor: are the things I learned in medical school the best option for this person, or is there a better way to approach the problem that isn’t as well known?  Cool stuff for sure, though!  After an awesome weekend in the mountains full of snowmobiling, lots of fresh now and such fun skiing, I jumped right back into medical research mode.  I presented at a seminar yesterday afternoon so I’ve been working on that the last couple of days.  It was on the experiment I completed last week…I’ll tell you more about it later!  I have another big deadline for a different project on Friday as well. Oh well, better to be busy than bored!  Anyway, the location I’m at this week has the best views…we’re up on the top floor and when the skies are clear the city tucked under snow covered mountains looks simply magical.  The perfect spot for a morning latte!  Time to head out to one of the hospitals for data collection!  Have a dope day babeskillets, Tita xx
