Hola! Just hopped into bed after a day in work mode and I was surprised to find a little slug in my bed! So crazy…and it’s extra funny because I have a weird fear of slugs haha. All good now, the little guy was moved safely outside. It was actually perfect as I was stressing out about work today and this totally reset me and made me laugh before bed. Anyway, thought I would share some photos and tips on the town of Sayulita, Mexico. The main area of town is small and super easy to get around on foot. It’s very catered to tourists with booths selling Mexican blankets and other goods (like the pompom I got!) set up in some streets by day. Since it’s a small town, the touristy vibes are not over the top and you still get an authentically Mexican vibe. The town is literally right on the beach with many streets leading to the sand. My favorite is the street covered in flags. The main square has a pretty white church and there’s fun touches all around town like “love” signs on trees and benches that remind you to smile. Walking down from Gringo Hill where we stayed you pass by so many pretty houses painted various bright colors, as well. A couple of places I would recommend to grab a sit down dinner would be Maria’s for all things Mexican (the tacos there are the best!), and La Rustica for brick-oven pizza and nice cocktails (great nicer date spot). For dessert there’s actually a couple of ladies who sell tasty homemade cakes by the slice from tables in the main square late into the night. If you want to beat the heat grab a Mexican popsicle at Wakika Heladeria…soooo good and refreshing (Mango is my favorite), right next to La Rustica. There is also an elusive churro man who sells fresh churros from a cart…I wasn’t lucky enough to come across him but my friends said they were absolutely delicious! Time to dream of tacos and churros babeskillets, Tita xx
