Happy hump day everybody!  Coming at you from my cubicle on this fine day.  Have been in work mode since Monday, mixing it up between working at home and at the office.  The other night I got to hug my girl Shannon and go out for a drink to celebrate her birthday which was sweet!  It’s always full of giggles and girl talk when we get together.  Today’s a bit different as I’m at work all day then I’m helping out a friend tonight by babysitting a couple tykes!  Should be fun haha.  Anyway, it’s all about mixing it up.  Before I dive back into reading medical journals I thought I’d share some tips and photos of our time in Pacific City, Oregon.  As I mentioned in a previous post, it was wet when we woke up…but the rain died down enough for us to make a tasty tailgate breakfast.  Did I mention we have the best car camping setup?  It’s so awesome waking up with epic beach views in a dry cozy cocoon.  Hotels are nice, too but there’s something so fun about camping out.  Here’s the lowdown on Pacific City: a little beach town with a characteristic haystack rock where you can drive on the beach.  Cape Kiwanda is at the end of the beach where there’s epic dunes and cliffs to explore.  Too wet this time, but a hike up the Cape/dunes is worth it if you’re there!  We ventured North during the downpour but came back in the afternoon to a little less rain.  After some beach driving (so fun!), Essex braved the rainy and messy surf for a bit (trooper).  Since the weather was iffy we went to The Pelican Brewery for a tasty beer (great spot with awesome views).  As we finished our tasty beers, the sun came out so we picked up some fresh groceries and we had the most epic sunset campfire and tailgate dinner!  The great thing about Pacific City is how close everything is (in the Cape Kiwanda part of town, which is where stayed): the brewery, the grocery store, the surf shop, etc. are all walking distance from the beach.  Ending the day with a beautiful sunset and delicious stuffed peppers (with fresh shrimp!) is perfection.  Similarly, waking up to tasty tailgate percolated coffee is also pretty darn excellent.  All in all, Pacific city is great spot for a cozy getaway.  I love how empty it was as well (might be different in the summer), and the foggy emptiness made it even more cozy in my opinion.  Whether you surf or not, there’s plenty of beach exploring, dune hiking, sunset watching, and brewery sampling to be done.  There’s also a lovely beachfront Inn close to where we camped if that’s more up your alley.  Have a productive Wednesday babeskillets, Tita xx
