Create & Cultivate LA Conference 2018 ❤

Hello hello!  Just wrapped up a day of studying and am reminiscing about the Create & Cultivate Conference I was so fortunate to attend in LA a month ago.  It was my first time going to a non-medical conference and it was so fun!  So many boss babes in one place, and also so many cute outfits in one place haha.  It was really amazing to see all the ladies and learn their stories of both success and failure (which leads to a different kind of success, always).  Take home message: you can do whatever you want to do if you work hard and want it.  No excuses, as Kim Kardashian told us haha.  I can be have a rad blog AND be a doctor AND shred my butt off in the mountains.  ‘Twas the perfect boost of energy I needed to help me keep crushing the study game these next few months.  One step at a time.  Also, it was dope to put away the stethoscope and spend the day checking out some of my favorite beauty brands while meeting some of the babes behind the companies.

Here’s a highlight reel of the day (in picture form above):

-arrived to the most aesthetic conference venue I’ve ever seen (the medical world should take note haha)

-met one of my fave LA bloggers, Brittany Xavier: one of the first bloggers I started following when I got into this blog thing, love her boyish chic style

-browsed the pop-up shops including Sage Wellness (a company from Vancouver actually), Reebok (scored some fresh workout kicks), and La Croix (who had the best straws haha)

-avocado wallpaper, enough said

-ran into an OG Degrassi actress, Nina Dobrev: if you know, you know

-met the babes at Nudestix and got to try their new roll-on liquid eyeliner (game changer)

-got my hair did by the gals are The Glam App (shoutout to at @littleeefforts!)

-got my refreshment on with La Croix and Chandon among other tasty treats along the way

-listened to so many boss babe speakers including Aimee Song (of Song of Style), Anine Bing, Lauren Conrad, Chrissy Teigen, Jen Atkin, and Kim Kardashian

-and finally, came home with a mountain of amazing products to use!!!

It was an awesome experience and I’m so happy was I able to attend.  Fun and inspiring, a great combo!  Cheers babeskillets, Tita xx

Easter the Polish Way

Wesołych Świąt Wielkanocnych ❤

Hello from Whistler again!  Spent the weekend with the family celebrating Easter, and now me and Essex are back in Whistler (celebrated his Birthday up here yesterday, too!).  Easter the Polish way is all about food.  We bless Easter baskets full of eggs, sausage, bread, etc. on Saturday, then on Sunday there’s a big ol’ brunch feast.  My fave part is the babka my mom bakes…so good, like a sweet bread.  Moka is very into Easter; she loves guarding the basket…mainly because it smells like sausage though.  One of my all time favorite traditions that my family does is our Easter eggs.  We do it the wax and dye method where you cover up what you want in a certain color dye with wax, then move on to the next color dye and do the same…eventually you put the egg in the oven to melt the wax off and you’re left with a colorful egg, or pisanka in Polish.  We save ours over the years (they’re hollow, we blow out the egg contents through little holes at the top and bottom), so we have so many beauties to look at now.  You can see what I was into through the tears by whats on my pisanki haha.  Hope everyone had an awesome Easter with family and friends babeskillets, Tita xx

Grand opening of The Latest Scoop’s flagship store in Gastown ❤

Good morning!  Just taking a quick study break so I thought I’d write a quick post (it’s been a couple days haha).  Weekend was full of studying, but tonight I’m heading up to Whistler for a little while and I’m so excited!  Time to ski and spend time with Essex (and study haha, always).  Last week I attended the grand opening of The Latest Scoop’s new flagship store in Gastown, Vancouver.  Such a fun night full of cute clothes, champagne, and some Vancouver babes!  Located in the heart of Gastown, this store is in such a beautiful space.  Naturally I gravitated towards anything striped haha.  If you’re ever in Vancouver, definitely check out The Latest Scoop, they carry tons of dope and unique brands and the style is very west coast chill.  I’ll be back haha.  Happy Wednesday babeskillets, Tita xx

Happy Valentine’s Day!

From Rome, with love ❤

Sharing a little love today because I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.  Essex somehow managed to send me flowers today all the way from Montana, where he is literally in the middle of nowhere and has no phone service or internet.  He’s been on the road working on ski projects the last while and it just made me feel so warm and happy to get this delivery mid-study day.  It’s always nice to know that someone special is thinking of you – especially when they’re far away :).  My love and favorite adventure buddy (see Vespa goon photo above) is the absolute best.  Can’t wait to see him next week!  AND we get to go somewhere warm to together, too…stay tuned.  Happy Valentine’s Day babeskillets, Tita xx

Weekending ❤

There’s nothing like sunny days after a few weeks of overcast skies and rain.  I’m not a person that complains about the weather, the rain and clouds are cozy and awesome in their own way, but when the sun shines afterwards it’s just an extra cherry on top.  It’s sunny again on this lovely Monday and I’m so stoked go for a run this afternoon after I finish up today’s studying.  Mr. Sunshine has been out all weekend though and I was lucky enough to make a little trip downtown.  Vancouver is so beautiful!  First of all, woke up to the most adorable thing ever: Moka and a little plush seal just being cuties.  TOO. CUTE. TO. HANDLE.  Then I checked out West Coast Chic‘s pop-up shop at Project Skin MD where there was pretty couture AND goodie bags with some amazing skin care products.  Felt so nice to stroll around town in the sun, not worrying about getting my new suede boots wet haha.  Also, came across the perfect outdoor seating area with marble tables on South Granville.  Need to come back for a  latte when it’s a little warmer.  Happy Monday-ing babeskillets, Tita xx

Fun shoot for West Coast Chic Boutique ❤

Yesterday I took a break for from the books to take part in a photo shoot for West Coast Chic Boutique as well as The Secret Garden Tea Company.  The theme was Galentine’s Day and we shot a bunch of outfits with pieces from the boutique at the dreamiest location.  I got to wear a Tom Ford dress that was so dopely chic for one of the looks…drool.  Then it was time for high tea!  Tea and tasty treats with a bunch of cool gals, such a fun day of shooting.  And such a sweet team behind the camera, too!  Here’s a few snaps from behind the scenes.  How delicious does that high tea look…and who complain when you sip Earl Grey and champagne in one sitting?  Looking forward to seeing how all the photos from the shoot turned out!  Also, West Coast Chic Boutique is having a pop up shop this Saturday at Project Skin MD.  If you’re in Vancouver and want to check out some resale luxury items, stop by (check out their Instagram – @west.coast.chic.resale – for details).  Time to make another cup of tea and get some studying done babeskillets, Tita xx

Check out my outfit here.

Welcome to the final chapter of my holidays series!  Check out Part 1 , Part 2, and Part 3 for more holiday fun to get you inspired ahead of time for next year’s holiday season.  What I love about the holidays is having down town with family, especially when you’re used to always being on the go, working, or studying.  We love to have a cozy Christmas day at home, and then go to a family friend’s for the annual Christmas dinner fiesta.  And that’s not all…the 26th of December is a holiday in Poland, too and we usually have guests over for dinner (hence the spread above…meats, tasty salads, pierogi…you name it (a very European table).  But I wanted to share some of the presents was fortunate enough to unwrap on Christmas Eve…because there’s some awesome stuff you babeskillets might want to check out.  Before we begin though, how pretty do presents wrapped under the tree look?  Especially with ribbons and unique bows/decorations on them.  Love it.

Anyways, here’s my 2017 Xmas Love List:

Ole Henrikson: EVERYTHING!  I got a “12 Days of Christmas” package that had a ton of products from their different lines…so far loving all of them.  Very mild and good for sensitive skin!  Check out all things Ole here.

Kate Somerville eye cream:  ‘Twas the Christmas of beauty products and I’m not complaining.  Apparently this eye cream is one of the best.  I can vouch and say I love it so far, especially for dark circles.  Get your own here.

Dior bronzer:  Have been using Dior bronzer for years and I’m always happy to get gifted a refill.  The latest version is called Diorskin Nude Air Tan and you can find it here.

Kérastase Cristalliste shampoo and conditioner:  My all time favorite hair care splurge and I was lucky enough to get it as a gift from mamabear this year.  Really good for delicate hair!  My hair is super shiny after using this.  Check out the whole Cristalliste line here.

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream:  This stuff smells so good and is the perfect lotion to get you ready for the beach.  I didn’t know it existed, but I’m a big fan now.  Get your bum bum ready here.

The Smile Stealers: The Fine and Foul Art of Dentistry by Richard Barnett:  Love this book, and this author’s whole medical series.  This was on my wish-list this year and it’s such a good read.  If you like history and medicine, these are the books for you!  Tons of amazing history medical illustrations, plus they look great on your bookshelf.  Found all his books on Amazon for you here.

Narwhal mug: Need I say more?  The cutest mug for all the tea and coffee I consume while studying.  Available on Anthropologie here.

That’s it, that’s all!  I wanted to share those items because I’m just so stoked to come across things I love…and maybe you’d love, too haha.

That concludes the holiday recap series, hope you enjoyed a walk down memory lane and have a little back-burner list of ideas for next year.  Thanks for following along babeskillets, Tita xx
