Happy weekend!  Just got back from sushi with the fam and I’m deciding whether or not to work on my project proposal tonight.  I’m pretty brain pooped from the days work so going to bed early sounds real nice…then I’ll have a fresh brain to finish it tomorrow.  Hmmm…we’ll see what happens haha.  Anyway, thought I’d share some tips on Santa Cruz, California!  This is such a sweet beach town, just South of San Francisco.  Super liberal and artsy with lots of beautiful old homes.  I think there was a big hippie scene there in the 60s because the vintage shops are full of dope old pieces, very “Almost Famous.”  I’m not into thrifted clothing for myself, but I love looking at old things (clothes, buildings, anything with history haha) so it was right up my alley.  Apart from the awesome surfing this town has to offer (where you can literally go surf on your lunch break), here are some of things I liked.  First of all, strolling down Pacific Avenue in the morning I picked an iced latte at Cafe Delmarette.  Super tasty, I recommend this little coffee shop!  Pacific Avenue is the main street that runs to the pier eventually.  There’s lots of good ice cream places on here as well, we got some cones from Mission Hill Creamery and my peanut butter scoop was sooo good.  The pier itself is worth a stroll on as if offers great views of the beach/whole town.  Definitely check out Streamer Lane, a little ways West of the pier for some epic surf views (or if you’re up to it, for a surf).  Really nice spot to catch the sunset…cotton candy skies galore.  There are other surf spots further East of the pier which we surfed at that are a little more mellow and spacious.  Of course tons of good food here as well!  We went to Pono Hawaiian Grill for delicious poke and some Kona on tap.  Really chill vibes and I felt like I was in Hawaii.  Overall, love Santa Cruz.  Lots of sick foliage and palm tress (my fave)!  Our hotel super central, walking distance to to the pier.  This was also in the middle of our road-trip and sleeping in a real bed was especially awesome.  What was extra nice was that we had some friends that lived here to show us around.  Super dope to get the local knowledge, especially in the surfing and ice cream departments haha.  Alright, time to drink some herbal tea and call it a night.  Peace babeskillets, Tita xx
