It’s snowing in the city today!  I’m cozied up working from home and it feels so good to be surrounded by a mini winter wonderland.  Today is the final crush on my research project before the holiday break, and tomorrow I have a last meeting to review it all.  In addition, I’m putting the research on pause in the new year for a little while (which is great as it will allow more time for data to be collected which will enable me to finish the second half of the project).  Going to be hitting the medical books hard though…after the holidays.  Shall be a nerdy ol’ time.  The snow is really making it feel like Christmas (and so are the three Christmas trees in our house), so here’s a holiday inspired look with some pieces I got from Lulus.  I wore this to the rehearsal dinner of my friend’s wedding in New Orleans the other weekend and it was so fun to wear wide legged pants haha.  Swish swish!  Walked into this perfectly regal room and I immediately felt the urge to own many leather-bound books.  The venue was Antoine’s, a New Orleans restaurant dating back to 1840 and it sure felt that way inside.  So. cool.  Everything was extra beautiful with the holiday decor, too.  Anyway, on the outfit.  Hello velvet!  These velvet pants are so comfortable, I love the higher waist and the slits up the side.  Paired it with a sheer bodysuit and a lace bralette.  I’m a sucker for sheer fabrics with lace underneath and the added touch of velvet pants created a festive vibe to the look.  Sock-fit ankle boots with heels elevated both my height and outfit to a new level.  It was cool to not wear a dress yet still be fancy and girly.  I felt mucho sophisticado.  Moral of the story: if you want to feel regal, wear some flowy velvet pants.  Have a snowed in afternoon babeskillets, Tita xx
