Weekend getaways <3

Recently I spent the best weekend in Fernie, Canada.  What I loved even more about this trip was that we drove from Whistler to Fernie, over 10 hours, to the other side of the province.  Road trips are the best (especially when you’re the co-pilot…).  Drove through so many snowy mountain passes and small towns en route.  Along the way we came across a beautiful lake with the stillest water AND chilling on the trees next to the lake was a flock of eagles.  I counted at least 40, it was insane.  So majestic.  We live in such a beautiful country!  If an epic drive wasn’t enough, we rolled into town for the Burrrlapz ski movie premier that Essex was a part of.  It was in an old theater, too!  I think their crew’s content is so unique and well done.  A little artsy with good music and dreamy scenery.  Oh, and amazing skiing.  Check out the latest video they put out over the weekend here.  We got to stay in the coolest building, as well.  The historic building was a high school built in 1909 that was converted to a spa and apartments recently.  SO COOL.  And probably full of so many stories.  I love old buildings renovated into modern style on the inside…so many of those in Europe that I drooled over haha.  This was really beautiful though, with mountain views all around.  The spa looked amazing, too with hot pools for day use (next time, maybe!).  Here’s to more winter weekend getaways babeskillets, Tita xx
