Buckhorn Baths Motel: abandoned and rumored to be haunted!

About to head out for a evening run after a day of work!  Love my home office set up in this apartment.  Super productive day so I’m stoked to relax my brain a little tomorrow.  A couple weeks ago I spent a weekend in Phoenix, Arizona checking out a cool hotel and the city.  My phone and computer were having tech issues at the time but I finally got around to getting the photos edited (mostly from my Gopro), so I’ll be sharing my favorite Phoenix spots with you this week.  To start, here’s some cool shots of the abandoned Buckhorn Baths Motel.  Opened in 1939 by Ted and Alice Sliger, this motel had mineral baths which were popular for people with rheumatic issues to visit and also became a relaxation destination for actors and athletes (the New York Giants would come every year and it’s rumored that JFK stayed here, too).  There was also a “Wildlife Museum” full of taxidermy animals (which is still inside!) as the Ted was a taxidermist.  When Alice passed away at the age of 103 in 2010 the building became abandoned and now has an uncertain future.  For now, it’s cool to check out if you’re driving through Mesa, Arizona.  Apparently it’s very haunted.  I love old and abandoned places so I had to check it out, even just from the outside.  Time to go run, then Essex will come home and we can have a cozy night.  Ciao babeskillets, Tita xx
