Out and about in New Orleans <3
The New Orleans French Quarter is such a cool area, so rich in history and culture it makes you feel like you’re back in time at moments. The architecture is dope, the streets are narrow and euro-like, and the sounds of jazz blast around every corner. The French history is immediately noticed by all the French street names such as Dauphine Street. Bourbon Street is of course busy and full of bars/restaurants open both day and night…but the surrounding quieter streets are full of pretty buildings and cool finds. Walking by all the buildings with classic cast-iron balconies and hanging plants was amazing. Crescent City Pizza Works on Bourbon Street had the tastiest slices, perfect for a bite on-the-go as you’re exploring town. A random find in a state of hunger haha. Royal Street was lined with amazing antique shops full of chandeliers and other ancient treasures. So cool to look around and think about how old all the things are and who owned them before. Another fun discovery was the best pet shop I’ve ever been to (Southern Paws Pet Boutique and Bakery) that had all the best in pooch goodies and toys. I picked up a little something for Moka there: a Chewnel purse, of course. They even had champagne for dogs haha. A visit to New Orleans isn’t complete without gumbo so we hit up one of the many restaurants in the French Quarter for the classic dish. When in NOLA, right? Finally, if you want to explore beyond the French Quarter and like cool art, check out The Caribbean Room in the Ponchartrain Hotel (located in the Garden District) for some dope art. Lil’ Wayne, say what? Happy explorations babeskillets, Tita xx
