Jackson Square in New Orleans, Louisiana <3

Hola!  Thought I’d share some travel posts about my time in NOLA.  It was my first time there and I didn’t have time to research anything before arriving.  Luckily, it’s a city that’s full of fun and things to do, so it wasn’t an issue.  Plus, there’s some babes I know who happen to live there and showed us the ropes (and one of their wedding’s was the reason for the trip).  First of all, the historic French Quarter is a must.  Even when it isn’t Mardi Gras, the streets are alive with music, there’s bars open all day, and you can walk around the town with drinks in hand…vacation mode 101.  It already seemed hectic me, and I can only imagine what it’s like during Mardi Gras haha.  At the heart of the French Quarter is Jackson Square.  It’s the historic site of the Louisiana Purchase, which if don’t know is when the US bought a shit ton of land West of the Mississippi from the French in 1803 (basically a big diagonal line all the way from Louisiana to Montana), and is something that truly shaped the fate of the US territories as a whole.  History lesson of the day (you know you love it).  Anyway, nowadays it’s a pretty park and square area great for strolling around and sipping your morning coffee.  At the head of the square is an old cathedral, which is worth a pop into if you’re into architecture/churches.  In front of the cathedral there’s a mix musicians playing jazz, mystics reading tarot cards, and people selling all kinds of things.  NOLA is an eclectic place.  Take any street leaving from the square and you’ll and yourself strolling by the cutest and most colorful buildings.  Love this historic center of Now Orleans!  Happy weekend babeskillets, Tita xx
